Light Leak Photoshop Actions on Hi-Res Files

Light Leak Photoshop Actions on Hi-Res Files

FAQMar 27 20120 Comment

I recently received an email from someone asking if my Light Leak Photoshop actions would work on hi-res files. My answer? Yes! Of course! As a professional photographer, I’m always working on hi-res images, so my actions are tailored for images that are at least 3000 pixels wide. I actually don’t recommend using the Light Leak actions on any photo smaller than 2000 pixels wide, or else the Light Leaks are likely to consume the entire image, rather than just add a bit of flair.

Below are some before and afters I put together using only actions from the Light Leak set. Each image is between 4000 and 6000 pixels wide.

What if my native file size isn’t big enough?

If you’re working with images that are too small for the Light Leak action set, a quick workaround I recommend is resizing your image to at least 2000 pixels, running the actions and then sizing it back down to the original file size before saving.

Then again, the unpredictability of it all is what draws us to light leaks in the first place, isn’t it? So maybe it’s best to just throw caution to the wind and see what happens!

Light Leak Photoshop Actions are available for purchase here for $15.
