INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
WHAT ARE PHOTOSHOP ACTIONS?
Photoshop Actions are handy files that pre-record a set of commands that can later be played over and over again with the click of a button. This is especially helpful in a few ways:
- When you want to achieve a certain look, but aren’t sure how to get it.
- If you don’t have time to learn the in’s and out’s of Photoshop.
- Speeding up your workflow with just the click of a button.
Follow these directions to install Action sets (.atn files) into your version of Photoshop 7.0 and up:
Save the .atn file to a folder of your choosing. Photoshop automatically stores actions in a specified folder.
For example, it might look like this:
C:PROGRAM FILES/ADOBE/ADOBE PHOTOSHOP/PRESETS/ACTIONS/
In Photoshop, open the Actions palette.
WINDOW > ACTIONS - OR - ALT + F9
Click the drop-down menu in the top upper-right hand corner of the palette window.
Select “Load Actions” from the menu and navigate to the folder you have stored the .atn file.
I leave all actions unflattened so you can tweak to taste.
Many of the actions work well together.
Most work best on higher resolution images.
